Access to clearwell castle. A right place for exploring Clearwell. Enjoyed our stay here and recommend...
Proximity to clearwell castle. Nice comfy base for discovering Clearwell.
Very attentive staff. Good breakfast.
The standard of the room cleaners was poor. Every day something was missing or forgotten after the cleaners had been.
The standard has slipped since we stayed at the hotel with the previous ownership, Rooms look tires Evening meal ver slow and very average
Staff were very helful and the food was good
shabby. room with' tired' furnishings. TV did not work. no bath mat or tissues in the bathroom. £130 per night ?????
Characterful country hotel, that was warm & welcoming. Also loved the pig ornaments & comfy sofas.
Just felt the single room was a bit of a cupboard, you could hear through the walls, even peoples conversations. Also the tariff was high for what it was.
Lovely rooms, beautiful buildings and nicely decorated. Really good breakfast.
Out in the middle of nowhere a little bit so should do food all day
sorry to say..very little.
tired looking;beds badly need replacing...hard and no support. old blankets and toilet not working. Bar area...needs a good clean....Carpets dirty with lots of dog hairs Dining room again...dour and again needs a good clean As measured against another hotel in the village ..The Tudor arms....The Wyndham Arms Hotel was a distant second. Minor point...It would have been nice to both create an ambience and indeed some warmth in lounge to have lit a fire ( Note in other establishments down the street there was fires ( pub,Tudor hotel). When I asked the case to manager at hotel.....the answer I received ,was lighting a fire was too costly and anyway central heating was on.........??????
Very relaxed & friendly atmosphere and VERY dog friendly
Lovely location, 15 to 30 minute drive to lots of attractions, too many to do in one weekend. Staff were very friendly and efficient and nothing was too much trouble. Food was excellent and plentiful, so much so, that I think we came home half a stone heavier, despite the miles of beautiful walks close by!! We would definitely go and stay again, but next time we will take the dog, he would have loved it too.
Nothing very much. The location was convenient to meet up with family members.
The hotel was shabby and in desperate need of updating and refurbishment. Our bathroom was not really clean, particularly the floor. The toilet required a system of cranking the handle about 7 times then holding it down to get the loo to flush. The bar and dining room were gloomy and grubby. We felt it was very much over-priced for the facilities and location, being in a village without a single shop to purchase a morning newspaper or other essentials. The prices of evening dinner were also very high for the quality of the fare.
The character of the hotel attracted me - an old coaching inn with some original and interesting features. We were staying in the annexe which was modern but we ate in the restaurant and the dinner was good and breakfast excellent. The local area is very appealing.
We found the bed rather hard and lumpy and we were only given one towel between us - I assume a mistake.
Good valve excellent staff, ticked all the boxes Well done
Most convenient location for a function within the village. Good, friendly service and very easy to find.
